Students of Drobo Senior Secondary School disciplined

Drobo(B/A), April 01,GNA – Authorities of Drobo Senior Secondary School in Jaman South District have sacked 64 students from the boarding house for attending a dance and indulging in undisciplined acts at a hotel. Mr Anane Sanford, Assistant Headmaster, who is also Chairman of the School’s Disciplinary Committee, said the action was to serve as a deterrent to other students. He explained that on the midnight of Saturday, March 25 this year, all the housemasters were called to duty and during a roll call it was found out that the students had left their dormitories. Mr Effah Gyamfi, the Headmaster, told the Ghana News Agency that the decision would not be rescinded, saying the school’s focus was to train students to become responsible citizens in future. He expressed appreciation to the Government for upgrading the school into a model one and warned that the authorities would not tolerate acts of indiscipline that would undermine efforts to help the students excel in the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations. The school has 398 students. 01 April 06
