Aflao, April 1, GNA – An Aflao Circuit Court has remanded a fisherman in prison custody for allegedly stealing a chief’s stool, talking drums and six bottles of schnapps.
Dewodina Ativor, the suspect, whose plea was not taken, would be brought before the court again on April 27, this year. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Albert Kofi Frimpong told the court presided over by Group-Captain Martin Obeng-Ntim (Rtd) that, on February 2 this year, Togbe Zewu, a chief of Kedzi, a coastal community in the Keta District in the volta Region, detected that the items were missing from his stool room.
He said, while looking for them, the chief was hinted by one Kingsley Kpornu, a taxi driver and one other person, who is a friend to the accused that they conveyed the accused person with some items wrapped in a cloth and in a bag, popularly called “Ghana Must Go” to Agbozume the previous dawn.
Mr Frimpong said Ativor, who had been visiting his wife at Kedzi was trailed to Agbozume, where the items were found in an uncompleted building near his (Ativor) house.
