Change nation for the better – Churches told

Mankessim (C/R), March 31, GNA – The Mfantseman District Chief Executive, Mr Robert Quainoo-Arthur, has called on religious bodies to use the high number of people who attend their activities to change society for the better.

If all these conventions, crusades and prayer meetings cannot help us to change our attitude and way of behaviour then we are treading on the path of the Biblical Sodom and Gomorrah, which could not produce five righteous people to save the community from destruction, Mr Quainoo-Arthur stated.

He was addressing a five-day crusade organised by the Mankessim North District of the Church Pentecost at Mankessim, dubbed the “Anti Lucifer Gospel and Healing Crusade” while the theme was “This Same Jesus”.

The DCE stated that prayers should empower the people to do the right thing and said that the crusade should be a prelude for the development of the area, the DCE said.

He commended the organisers for the theme and pointed out that mismanaging the environment, indiscipline and injustice were the work of Lucifer and urged them to put an end to such action.

Mr Quainoo-Arthur called on the congregation to patronise the Mutual Health Insurance Scheme and to register without delay. He pointed out that the Avian Flu had not been detected in Ghana and said that it was safe to eat poultry from local farms. Apostle Kwesi Ackah Baidoo, Cape Coast Area Head of the Church in a sermon said offering at services was a sign of worship but not to solicit God’s blessings.

Pastor Ahmed Anane Acheampong of the Mankessim branch of the Church, said 201 converts were won for Christ during the crusade. Twelve assemblies of the Church formed the Mankessim North District.
