Accra, March 31, GNA – A German, Bernd Schnidt was on Friday remanded into prison custody when he appeared before an Accra Court on Friday charged with causing harm.

Schnidt pleaded not guilty and would reappear on April 4 2006. Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Amega told the court that Schnidt, a solar energy expert, hired Mr Seth Obeng, a driver, to cart some solar equipment to Wa in the Upper West Region and made part payment.

He said when Mr Obeng returned he went to the residence of Schnidt at East Legon on March 14 2006 to demand the remaining part of the money.
