Ministry studying Ada Songhor Lagoon Land Use Plan

Accra, March 30, GNA – The Ministry of Lands, Forestry and Mines on Thursday announced that the Land Use Plan for the Ada Songhor Lagoon Area in the Greater Accra Region was not officially released. It said the “Ministry has just received the final draft report which it is studying with its agencies”

A statement Professor Dominic K. Fobih, the Sector Minister signed in Accra, said it has requested that after the Technical Committee had studied the report, “a validation forum will be organized by the consultants to afford all stakeholders including landowners, the traditional rulers, District Assemblies and all other interest groups the opportunity to make an input on the proposals.” It said: “It is only after this forum that the consultants will prepare the final report.”

The statement said the Ministry was aware of the anxiety of the people on the issue and gave the assurance that the final report would be made public as soon as it was received. It appealed to all to remain calm while due process was being followed.
