No peace to work for Dagbon peace – Prof. Seini

Tamale, March 29, GNA – Professor Alhassan Wayo Seini, an Independent candidate contesting the upcoming Tamale Central by-election on Wednesday said he did not have the peace and maximum cooperation from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to work for peace in Dagbon as a Member of Parliament.

“The only way for me to work for genuine peace for the people of Dagbon was to resign from the NDC and to renew my trust with the people of Tamale Central to give me another chance to work for that peace,” he said.

Prof. Seini, who was speaking to the GNA in an interview in Tamale, said those who thought and believed that he was only adding up to the numbers in the contest would be proved wrong when the results came out after April 4.

He said he was the only one who could work for peace, development and prosperity for the people and appealed to the electorate not to change their minds but vote massively for him as they did in the Election 2004.

“If I were dishonest to the people of Tamale Central, I would have stayed in Parliament quietly and received my salary for four years and not worked in the interest of the people but my conscience never allowed me to do that.” he said.
