Akosa warns against fake eclipse shades

Koforidua, March 28, GNA – The Director General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa, has warned parents and the public to be wary of faked eclipse shades being sold by some unpatriotic citizens.
He said such faked shades were not stark black and one could see lights through them and warned that those, who would use such shades to watch the eclipse, could have their eyes damaged.
Prof. Akosa gave the warning at a meeting with the Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Yaw Barimah, members of the Eastern Regional Co-ordinating Council, staff of the Regional Director of Health Services, District Directors of Health Services at Koforidua on Tuesday. According to him, the proper eclipse shades were stack dark and one could not see anything when worn, saying, it was only the utra-violet rays from the sun that could pass through for one to see.
