Sekondi-Takoradi churches worried about impasse in Anglican Church

Takoradi, March 19, GNA – The Reverend Emmanuel Boamah-Agyekum, Coordinator of the Sekondi-Takoradi Ministers Network said the ongoing crisis within the Saint Andrew The Apostle Anglican Cathedral at Sekondi and their Bishop, Right Rev. John Otoo, required special prayers and counselling. The prayer and counselling sessions would heal the wounds and the pains that some individuals might harbour within them. He said no minister or church within the Sekondi-Takoradi was happy about the crisis.

“When such incidents occur, it results in factionalism in the church, make people bitter, suspicious and secretive”. Speaking to the media in Takoradi on Sunday, Rev. Boamah-Agyekum said if passions were allowed into the present situation, finding a solution to the problems would be difficult and long. He, therefore, appealed to all laypersons, the clergy and other church leaders to avoid using the pulpit and any available platform to incite, or cast insinuations at each other. Rev. Boamah-Agyekum, who is also the head of the Emmanuel Community Church, said all stakeholders in the Anglican Church must exercise restraint and find appropriate means of resolving the impasse. He appealed to members of the congregation and the general public to assist the Anglican Church in prayers, for an amicable solution to their problems.
