Nkawie (Ash), March 14, GNA – The Nkawie circuit court has bonded over a 21-year-old seamstress who was put before the court for verbal assault to be of good behaviour for two years. Hassana Mohammed, who pleaded guilty to the charge, will serve a one-year prison term in default.
Police Chief Inspector Robert Yitamkey told the court, presided over by Mr Noble Nkrumah that one Michael Acheampong, the complainant and the accused lived in the same house at Tanoso near Kumasi for which the complainant was the caretaker. He said the complainant reported Hassana to the landlord that she had turned her room into a hotel, entertaining all manner of men. Chief Inspector Yitamkey said based on this report, the landlord ejected the accused and warned her not to set foot in the house again. The prosecution said, however, that Hassana ignored the warning and continued to visit the house.
He said on January 29, this year, the complainant saw Hassana in the house and when he asked her what she wanted in the house, she rained insults on him and cursed him in the process. Chief Inspector Yitamkey said he therefore, reported the case to the police who arrested Hassana and after investigations charged her with the offence.
