Ajumako Assembly awards schools at anniversary celebration

Ajumako (C/R), March 07, GNA- The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Assembly on Monday honoured 10 basic schools and four senior secondary schools in the district for their academic performance to mark Ghana’s 49th Independence anniversary celebrations at Ajumako. The assembly also honoured Kromaim, Ochiso, Osedze and Awordo for their self-help spirit in tree planting and environmental cleanliness. The assembly presented each of the schools and communities with a television set.

Mr Kenneth Obempong, the District Chief Executive who presented the sets, said the presentation sets was to support the President’s Initiative on Distant Learning. Earlier, Mr Obempong took the salute at a parade by school children and voluntary organisations.

Mando Secondary came first in the senior secondary category while Ghana Education Staff Development Institute (GESDI) took the first position in the JSS level.
