Kufuor meets Sudanese Foreign Minister

Accra, Feb. 27, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor on Monday granted audience to the Sudanese Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr Lam Akol, at the Castle, Osu.

The Minister was in the country to deliver a message from President Omar Al-Bashir.

In a brief remark before the two went into closed-door meeting, Mr Akol said he would use the opportunity to give President Kufuor an update on the current political and security situation in his country. They would also hold bilateral talks to strengthen the relations between Ghana and Sudan.

President Kufuor said he was happy to receive the message from his Sudanese counterpart and asked the Minister to convey to President Al-Bashir his appreciation for the warm reception he gave to him during the recently held African Union Summit in Khartoum, Sudan. He said, he had already written to express his thanks to the Sudanese President. BDB
