Kumasi, Feb 12, GNA – Pastor Kwabena Boakye-Yiadom, Stadium District Pastor of the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church, has expressed concern about the current political situation in the country following the decision of the government to introduce the Representation of the People’s Amendment Bill (ROPAB).
He has therefore, appealed to all politicians in the various political divide to thread cautiously and exercise restraint in their actions and utterances in order not to set the stage for confusion and conflict in the country.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi at the end of the two-week Gospel revival and health exposition organized by the Stadium district of the Church at Kotei near Kumasi on Saturday, Pastor Boakye-Yiadom said Ghanaians, especially Christians were worried about the current political development in the country. He said peace was vital in the socio-economic development of the nation and there was therefore, the need for all Ghanaians, including politicians to protect it.
Pastor Boakye-Yiadom appealed to both the opposition and the government to understand each other and come to compromise to find a suitable position on the issue to ensure peace.
He said the two-week revival, which was performed by Mrs. Rhoda Kanna from the US, was to rekindle the faith of the congregation and win more souls for Christ.
Pastor Boakye-Yiadom said Mrs Kanna and her daughter, Angela preached about the Kingdom of God and the need for mankind to prepare to inherit it, adding that about 38 souls were won and baptized into the church.
