The GWC explains water shortage in Ho

Ho, Feb 3, GNA- The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWC) in Ho, on Friday explained that the intermittent water supply to the Ho Municipality, was mainly due to low power voltage at the Kpeve pumping station, which necessitated the shutting of the pumps.

Mr Eric Bansah, the GWC Municipal Manager, in an interview with the He said the situation was being observed, and pumping of water would resume as soon as power at the station was adequate for the machines to function without getting damaged.

Water supply to parts of Ho had been irregular since the last Christmas holidays, with the heavily populated Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) flats being the worst affected. A waft of offensive smell from un-flushed water closets meet visitors to the flats, whose inhabitants depend on a nearby creek for water anytime there was shortage.
