Health workers urged to promote national insurance scheme

Nyinahin (Ash), Jan 29, GNA – Madam Belinda Baffoe Bonna, Atwima-Mponua District Director of Health Service, has urged all health personnel to work harder than before for the success of the National Health Insurance Scheme.

Addressing the eighth District Health Management Team (DHMT) at Nyinahin on Thursday, she said the failure or success of the scheme would depend on doctors and nurses.

Madam Baffoe-Bonna urged health workers in the district to co-operate with chiefs, opinion leaders and the public for the success of the scheme.

She also urged health personnel to give health talks in schools on teenage pregnancy and pre-marital sex to save the youth from contracting diseases, especially the HIV/AIDS.

Mr Solomon Boakye, the District Disease Control Officer, appealed to health personnel at the sub-districts to report serious cases beyond their control immediately to his outfit for urgent treatment.
