Chief of Gomoa Brofoyedur dies in motor accident

Winneba (C/R), Jan 19, GNA-The Chief of Gomoa Brofoyedur, Nana Hammah II died on the spot in a motor accident at Winneba Junction in the Central Region.

Fourteen other passengers on board the Accra-bound vehicle Accra survived the accident, which occurred on Monday, January 16. Mr Nicholas Gasu, Winneba District Police commander told the Ghana News Agency that the bus the Chief was travelling in was behind a haulage truck when the driver, John Jones Inkum lost control of the vehicle.

The bus therefore veered off its lane and somersaulted around 2200 hours.

Mr Gasu said passengers who sustained minor injuries were treated and discharged while the mortal remains of the Chief had been released to the family for burial. Police investigations is on-going.
