PTA builds block for Sekondi Methodist Secondary

Sekondi, Jan. 18 GNA – The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the Methodist Secondary School at Sekondi on Tuesday presented a block of two classrooms and a 10-seater water closet toilet to the school. The projects valued at 350 million cedis were meant to ease the acute accommodation problem in the school and offer the students a descent place of convenience.

Pastor Francis Billy-Acquah, Chairman of the PTA said the old place of convenience apart from the danger it posed to the students, was also a health hazard. He hinted that the PTA would soon construct another block of two classrooms for the school by June this year. Receiving the keys to the facilities, Bishop John Harvey-Ewusi, Methodist Bishop of Sekondi Diocese commended the PTA for its efforts and called on the school management to make periodic maintenance their priority.

Mr Kwame Miezah-Edjah, Headmaster, said the school needed various forms of assistance to improve on other aspects of its infrastructure. He appealed to the old students of the school, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and individuals to come to the aid of the school.
