Pentecost Church to establish a Teacher Training College

Wenchi (B/A), Jan.6, GNA – The Wenchi West Pentecost Church in Brong-Ahafo is to establish a Teacher Training College at Wenchi. Mr. Isaac Tweneboah, an elder of the Church announced this at a New Year service on the programmes and plans envisaged by the Church this year.

He said the project, estimated at about 350 million cedis would take off this year with 10 classrooms, offices, stores and accommodation for teachers.

Mr Tweneboah said the project, was to augment Government’s efforts to prepare professional teachers to enhance education in the country. He said special levies would be made towards the project and appealed to the congregation to contribute their quota for the early completion of the project.

Mr Tweneboah said a seven-day revival, fasting and prayers would be held this month.

Pastor Philip Ntim Marfo, Pastor in-charge of the church in a sermon stressed the need for Christians to remain faithful to God and advised the youth to be obedient to their parents, teachers and elders in the society.

“We should allow our Christian faith and activities reflect in our social and public lives,” He added. 06 Jan.06
