Artisan dies in an accident

Yendi, Jan. 3, GNA – One person died on the spot and 13 others received injuries on new year’s day when a KIA vehicle conveying them from the Bimbilla market to Yendi was involved in an accident between Adibo and Choo near Yendi.

The deceased was identified as Issifu Mahama, a Smock weaver based at Balogu a suburb of Yendi.

The injured including a 10 months old baby are on admission at the Yendi Government Hospital.

An eyewitness account said a cargo truck drove into the lane of the KIA driven by Mohmmed Baba hitting its side resulting in the accident. He said driver of the truck refused to stop after the accident but was later arrested by the Bimbilla Police and handed over to the Yendi Police.
