Tamale Regional Hospital records six births on Christmas Day

Tamale, Dec. 26, GNA – The Tamale Regional Hospital on Christmas Day recorded six deliveries, three boys and three girls between midnight and 1030hours.

Ms Monica Jalluh, a Nursing Officer in charge of the labour ward said the hospital recorded the first delivery of a baby boy at exactly midnight, while the second; a baby girl was recorded at 0125hours. Ms Jalluh said all the babies and their mothers were doing well except one mother (name withheld), who collapsed after delivery but was responding to treatment.

The West Hospital on the other hand, recorded zero delivery as at 1030hours, when the GNA visited.

Ms Suwera Amadu, Senior Midwifery Superintendent in charge of the labour ward said the hospital recorded three deliveries all males on the eve of the (24th night) of the Christmas Day. She said the hospital was not expecting any delivery since no pregnant woman was on waiting.
