Christians urged to give meaning to Christmas

Accra, Dec. 25, GNA – The Reverend Moses Opoku Agyemang, Pastor in charge of the Asylum Down Presbyterian Church on Christmas day reminded Christians to lead holy lives to give meaning to the birth of Christ. He said Christ was born to save mankind from the burden of sin and it was important that people portrayed the true meaning of Christmas by living holy lives.

“The birth of Christ is meant to give us grace to enable us live in this world without sin as Christ,” he said. Preaching on the theme, “A King is born” he urged the youth to avoid immorality and to strive to be righteous and perfect as Christ who was perfect.

Rev. Agyemang advised them to abstain from sex to avoid HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. He also urged adults to lead lives worthy of emulation by the youth, saying “It is only when we give meaning to the birth of Christ that we can attain the total peace that we seek in the world”.
