Four fined for stealing a goat

Twifo Praso (C/R), Dec 20, GNA – Four men from Twifo-Aboabo who stole a goat valued at 300,000 cedis were on Monday fined a total of 800,000 cedis by a district’s magistrate’s court at Twifo-Praso.

Kwesi Edu-Kwaw, Michael Safo, Kweku Manu and Kwame Nkrumah, pleaded guilty to stealing and were fined 200,000.00 cedis each. They were in addition ordered to pay a restitution of 300,000.00 cedis, or serve a month each in jail.

Chief Inspector George Okine told the court that the local neighbourhood watch committee spotted the four men carrying something in a sack.

They committee members trailed them and caught them slaughtering the goat.
