NDC corrects wrong impression

Sunyani (B/A), Dec 15, GNA – The Brong Ahafo Regional Secretariat of National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said some media houses misrepresented the results of the party’s election held in Sunyani on December 10. A statement issued in Sunyani signed by Mr Justice Samuel Adjei, the Regional Secretary of the party on Thursday denied that there were elections for first, second and third regional chairmen or first and second deputy regional secretaries as reported by some media houses. The statement said the party has a regional chairman and three regional vice-chairmen.

Mr John Owusu Agyemang, a lawyer, was elected the Regional Chairman. The three Regional Vice-Chairmen are, Mr Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo, Mr Opoku Atuahene and Ms. Vida Boatemaa Anim. The statement said, “We also have a Regional Secretary and two deputies. Mr Justice Samuel Adjei is Regional Secretary and the two Deputy Regional Secretaries are Mr Harries Ven Kumini and Mr Kwasi Oppong Ababio. The statement said the former Regional Chairman, Alhaji Collins Dauda, did not contest for any position because he wanted to concentrate on his parliamentary work. ”It is, therefore, not true that he contested and lost as Deputy Regional Propaganda Secretary”, the statement said.
