Union expresses concern about spate of accidents

Accra, Dec. 7, GNA – The General Transport, Petroleum and Chemical Workers’ Union (GTPCWU) of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), has expressed its concern about the spate of unfortunate incidents like industrial unrests, road accidents and air disasters in the transport industry which claimed many precious lives and property this year. In a fraternal Christmas message to its social partners and members Mr Emmanuel Armstrong Mensah, General Secretary, expressed the Union’s condolence to the families of those who lost their lives and urged members to exercise the greatest caution to avert similar occurrences in the future.

He advised members to continue to work together in harmony to minimise unfortunate incidents in the industry to ensure progress and development. “We wish to take this opportunity to encourage our members, social partners and other stakeholders that through their collaborative efforts they should endeavour to give of their best towards the realisation of set targets,” the statement added. 7 Dec. 05
