Takoradi painter jailed for defrauding

Sekondi, Dec 05, GNA – A Sekondi District Magistrate Court on Monday sentenced Mark Kobinah, a 43-year old painter, to 18 months imprisonment in hard labour for defrauding by false pretences. He pleaded not guilty.

Prosecuting, Police Sergeant Adu Kyeremeh said sometime this year the complainant, Ekow Ackon, asked the convict to help him obtain a visa for Spain.

Kobinah collected a total amount of 4,286,250 cedis from him failed to obtain the visa for him and on November 12 Ackon reported him to the police and he was arrested.
