Indian engineering delegation ends visit

Accra, Nov 25, GNA – A seven-member Indian delegation of diesel engine manufacturers has ended a three-day visit to Ghana during which Ghanaian authorities were given an overview of the Indian engineering industry.

The group also met with the Minister of Trade and Industry, Deputy Minister of Food and agriculture and heads of premier industry and investment institutions such as the Association of Ghana Industries to discuss trade and investment issues.

A statement from the Indian High commission in Ghana signed by Mr K. S. Mathews, Second Secretary for Information and Communication said the delegation also met 50 Ghanaian companies, which participated in a “Buyer-Seller-Meet” programme held on November 22. The statement said the delegation, coming from the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India, comprised manufacturers of a wide range of diesel engines used in a cross-section of agriculture, agro-processing and industrial sector, including pumps, tractors agricultural machinery, generators and rice mills.
