Sunyani to Train Over 60 Pupil -Teachers

Bishop W. E. K. Kusi, the Sunyani Municipal Director of Education, says his outfit in collaboration with the municipal Assembly will next year train over sixty untrained teachers.

Twenty four thousand pupil teachers are to be trained nation wide.

The mode of selection would be based on the willingness and readiness to upgrade one?s teaching skills and knowledge for the benefit of students in most deprived areas.

Bishop Kusi told Space News in Sunyani.

According to him, after these pupil teachers have completed their four year training, they would be made to sign a bond to serve for five years in the municipality.

?The education directorate and the Municipal Assembly would jointly sponsor the teachers after which a Diploma, higher than the three year post graduate certificate would be issued?, Bishop Kusi explained.

He added that a four year diploma would replace the current three year post secondary certificate this year.

Bishop Kusi appealed to interested untrained teachers who are ready to serve in deprived areas to apply to be trained.
