Accra (Greater Accra) 4th June ’99

The National Youth Council (NYC) on Thursday paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the June 4 Uprising.

A press release, signed by Mr Joe Kpenge, Acting National Co-ordinator of the council, to mark the 20th anniversary of the uprising, said they laid down their lives so as to restore freedom and justice in the country.

It said the council cherishes the ideals that the uprising stands for and pledged to play its part “to defend and strengthen the priceless heritage of national struggle handed over to this generation by gallant men and women.”
