UDS Student donates towards National Farmers Day

Wa, Nov 16, GNA – Mr Francis Akuffo, a student of the University of Development Studies at the Wa Campus, on Wednesday donated 200,000 cedis as his widow’s mite towards the National Best Farmers’ Day.

Mr Akuffo, who was adjudged the best Youth Farmer in the Akuapem North District in 2000 and adjudged best Environmentalist with his group; “Friends of the Environment” in 2003, said although he was a student he would contribute towards the success of the annual programme. Mr Akuffo called on the youth to engage in agriculture, no matter where they were working, as it was beneficial.

“My Decision to go to school stemmed from the fact that I want to learn more to become a big time farmer in future”
