Teachers asked not to organize extra classes

Sekondi, Nov 07, GNA – Mr Joshua Baidoo, Headmaster of Sekondi Secondary School, at the weekend called on teachers of the school not to organize classes outside the school curriculum for students for fees. He made the call at a meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the school at Inchaban near Sekondi.

Mr Baidoo said, “Teachers are no longer allowed to make their own personal arrangements to offer tuition and charge fees for extra classes”.

He said such classes could only take place in the school with his approval and permission. The meeting increased PTA fees per term from 30,000 cedis to 50,000 cedis.

Part of it would be used to motivate teachers to raise academic performance of students. 07 Nov 05
