Minister urges Muslims to avoid conflicts

Wa, Nov.3, GNA – Mr Ambrose Dery, Upper West Regional Minister on Thursday admonished Ghanaian Muslims to strive to ensure peace at all times to enhance progress and development within their communities. Mr Dery made the call when the leadership and some members of the Ahmaddiyya Muslim Mission and Al-Sunna Muslim communities in Wa paid a courtesy call on him at Wa.

This was at the forecourt of the Regional Coordinating Council after their open air prayers to mark the end of the month-long Ramadan. Mr Dery asked them to use the spirit of Ramadan to continue to work hard to create a better country for the present and future generations. He urged Muslim parents to take advantage of the Capitation grant to send their children to school to benefit from the Free Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE) programme.

Maulvi Umar Farouk Yahaya and Sheikh Ahmed Yakubu of Ahmaddiyya and Al-Sunna Muslim sects offered prayers for the progress and prosperity of the nation as well as Allah’s guidance for the political leadership of the country.
