Sixty-four ECG defaulters before court

Saltpond (C/R), Nov. 3, GNA – Sixty-four consumers owing the Electricity Company of Ghana in the Mfantseman and Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese districts have appeared before the Saltpond Magistrate Court presided over by Mr Kwaku Aboagye. Mr Bismark Otoo, District Manager of the Company told the court that each of the accused owed the ECG over one million cedis. Mr Aboagye ordered them to settle their bills in full within two weeks or face the consequences.

The Magistrate stated that, “we all are yearning for improved customer service and how can we achieve this if we do not pay our bills”.

He warned that he would not deal leniently with any defaulter brought before again.

Mr Aboagye imposed fines of between 100,000 and 250,000 cedis on each of the accused persons.
