Live Lotto Draws Suspended

DNL EXPLAINS SUSPENSION OF LIVE DRAWS

Management of the Department of National Lotteries (DNL) which has stopped the live draw of its winning numbers on both the television and radio is to curb the pirating of the company?s draws by private Lotto Operators in the country.

Speaking to the paper, in Accra, yesterday, a source at the DNL said the company had rather resorted to the announcement of its draws on radio and in the newspapers after each draw.

He explains that the company could not spend over 15 million on its live programmes only for private lotto operators to benefit from it.

He, however, said that the DNL always invite the public to its draw and said that there was no form of discrimination on who should be in the hall.
