Kufuor extend condolences to Obasanjo

PRESIDENT J.A Kufuor has sent his heartfelt condolences to President Obasanjo of Nigeria, on behalf of the people of Ghana, on learning of the sudden death of Stella Obasanjo, the official wife of the Nigerian leader.

The President, who is on an official trip to the US, sent his message of condolence as soon as his plane touched down at Gatwick Airport, in London, yesterday.

He described the death of General Obasanjo?s wife, as a big loss, not only to the people of Nigeria, but to Ghana, as well, in view of the special bond of relationship existing between the two countries.

He hoped that, Nigerians will pull through these difficulties, since it was in the midst of the plane crash that they heard that the president?s wife had died. He said he knew the strength of character of the Nigerian, and believed that they would be able to squarely meet the challenges resulting from the plane crash, as well as the loss of the president?s wife.
