Former Central Regional Minister to be buried on Saturday

Accra, Oct. 23, GNA- The late Nana Kweku Appiah I, Odikro of Gomoa Mozano, in the Central Region and former Deputy Central Regional Minister, during the administration of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be buried on October 30, 2005.

Wake will be kept for the 51-year -old chief, known in private life as Mr Hopna Q. Jehu-Appiah, on October 28th at Mozano, Headquarters of the Musama Disco Christo Church (MDCC), while the thanksgiving service will be held at the Jubilee Temple on Sunday October 30. A family Spokesman told the Ghana News Agency that among the large mourners expected comprised, the former President and Founder of the NDC, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, former Vice- President Professor Evans Atta Mills, Central Regional Minister, Mr Isaac Edumadze, chiefs and other traditional authorities.

The chief mourners include the Head of the Jehunano Family, Rev. Juba M. Jehu-Appiah, Church Father, Rev. Jeri. O. Jehu- Appiah, Rev. J.K. Addae, Senior Supervising Minister, Prophet S.B.A. Ankomah, Senior Supervising Prophet and Mr I’toma Arkurst, Chairman of the Interim Management Committee of the MDCC.

The rest are Jehu-Appiah/ Kwa Dum brothers and sisters and Van-Ess and Otoo brothers and sisters of Anomabo.

Nana Kweku Appiah was the first of eight children of the late Rev. Adam M. Jehu-Appiah and Madam Araba Ewusiwa.

He started his basic education at Kojokrom in Sekondi and was a graduate of Social Science at Eschela Facunda Gonzalez, in Havana Cuba. Nana Kweku Appiah, who was an employee of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), was appointed District Chief Executive for Agona in 1983. In 1991 he was installed the Odikro of Mozano. Surviving Nana Kweku Appiah are his wife, Elizabeth, Claims Manager of SSNIT, Swedru and children, Genevieve Araba Jehu-Appiah, student at Accra Polytechnic, Josephine Aba Jehu-Appiah, student, Swedru Secondary School and Emmanuel Ato Jehu-Appiah, student Flower Gay School, Cape Coast.
