Dromankese seeks Assembly’s support to accommodate police personnel

Dromankese (B/A), Oct. 23, GNA – The chiefs and people of Dromankese in the Nkoranza District of Brong-Ahafo have appealed to the District Assembly to provide them with 50 bags of cement and two bundles of roofing sheets to enable them to provide accommodation for police personnel in the area.

Mr Opoku Bosrah, Assemblyman of the area told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Dromankese on Thursday that the people had through their own efforts constructed a police station estimated at over 100 million cedis to provide security for the community and its catchments area. Mr Bosrah said the project consisted of five rooms including male and females cells.

He said the station would serve other communities such as Dromankuma, Dinkra, Boama, Amanda, Betoda, Tankonafour, Asuafu, Kununum, Tailorkrom and Kabregyato as well as some six hamlets established by settler farmers.

He said the community had been connected to the national electricity grid to enhance the development of the area. Mr Bosrah, however, complained that the newly developed areas of the community did not benefit from the power, as the old layout where low-tension poles were erected did not cover the new ones. He appealed to the Member of Parliament of the area Mr Eric Amoateng to provide them with 30 low-tension poles so electric power could be extended to the newly developed areas. He paid special tribute to the Canada-based citizens of the area for sending cash donation of five million cedis to support the local market project.
