Court grants farmer five million cedis bail for assault

Mankranso (Ash), Oct 23, GNA – A 21-year-old farmer at Penewotrim village in the Ahafo-Ano South District was on Friday granted a five million-cedi bail by the Mankranso magistrate court for assault. Adam Dasmani pleaded guilty to the charge and will re-appear on November 1.

Police Inspector Abraham Agyei-Mensah told the court that on September 8, Madam Dzoku Aku was at home when her two children reported to her in tears that Dasmani had beaten them in the farm while they were picking some oranges on the ground. He said the complainant therefore went to verify the truth of what her children told her.

The prosecution said on seeing the complainant and her children, Dasmani became annoyed, picked a quarrel with the complainant and eventually assaulted her.
