Two drivers convicted for using defective number plates

Akyem-Oda, Oct 21, GNA – Two drivers who used obscured number plates on their vehicles have been convicted to a total fine of two million cedis by the Akim Oda Magistrate Court.

Michael Assum and Emmanuel Yao Senoo, who were convicted on their own plea of guilty, would go to prison for three months each in default. Police Inspector Monku Oduro told the court that on October 18, the Akyem Oda Divisional Commander of the Police, Superintendent Ansu Amoabeng, intercepted the cars with registration numbers GW 2804 W and GW 8168 W, driven by the convicts.

The prosecutor said the number plates were decorated in a manner that rendered the plates obscure.
