GAF to hold joint exercise with NATO troops

Accra, Oct. 7, GNA – The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) would conduct a week joint-military exercise with North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) troops from October 15, a statement from the GAF said in Accra on Friday.

The statement said the NATO troops would come from the US, Spain and Italy.

The exercise code-named West African Cruise 06 would take place around Mankoadze and Achiase and Gulf of Guinea. The statement said the exercise formed part of the series of bilateral training activities between the US and African countries designed in support of African coastal security.

“There will be troops movement in Accra and the exercise areas during the period. The general public is hereby informed that they should not panic when they observe the movement of troops.”
