Akamba Committee postpones sittings for a week

Accra, Oct. 4, GNA – The five-member Akamba Committee investigating allegations of corruption and abuse of office against Mr. Kwaku Ansa-Asare, Director of the Ghana School of Law, has postponed its sittings to October 11. The Committee could not sit on Tuesday because two of its members were indisposed.

Chaired by Justice Joseph Bawa Akamba, the Committee, which started sittings in August, went on a brief recess after being sent to court by Mr Ansa-Asare who filed a writ at the High Court seeking an order to prohibit the committee from investigating him.

Mr Ansa-Asare, however, withdrew the writ after being assured by the Committee that it would not be unfair to him.
