Forty petty traders get 25 million cedis loan

Donyina (Ash), Sept. 30, GNA – The Ladies of Vision Club, a benevolent society at Donyina in the Ejisu-Juaben District has given 25 million cedis as loans to 40 petty traders in the community to enhance their businesses.

Madam Nancy Osaebea Aku-Sika, President of the Club, who announced this said the beneficiaries, all members of the Club were also given entrepreneurial skills training to update their knowledge in their respective trades.

She said the loans were given to the traders last two months as part of measures by the club to raise their standard of living whilst ensuring the growth of their businesses. Madam Aku-Sika said the Club organised a four-day managerial skill training for the 40 traders in collaboration with the National Youth Council (NYC).

She called on corporate bodies and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to be committed to the cause of women since they played a key role in the socio-economic development of the country and urged the traders to strive to put into practice the knowledge they acquired during the training.
