Obuasi Municipal Assembly commends retiring Planning Officer

Obuasi, Sept. 29, GNA – The Obuasi Municipal Assembly has commended Mr Yaw Asamoah, the retiring Municipal Planning Officer for the effective implementation of European Union (EU) sponsored micro projects within the Municipality.

Mr Joseph Kwadwo Boampong, Municipal Chief Executive making the commendation, said, ” Mr Asamoah brought dynamism into the implementation of micro projects within the Municipality.”

Speaking at a send-off ceremony organized the assembly, Mr Boampong said the Municipality was adjudged the best in the implementation of micro projects in the country and the credit should be given to Mr Asamoah.

The MCE urged staff of the assembly to emulate the shining example of Mr Asamoah adding: “Our goal is to see to the development of Obuasi and we must religiously do that”.

Mr M.K. Addai, Municipal Co-ordinating Director, praised Mr Asamoah for his honesty and financial discipline in handling affairs of the micro projects.

He advised Civil Servants to work in accordance with laid down regulations to merit promotion.

“We should work hard and without blemish since it is rewarding to work to merit promotion,” he added. Nana Asirifi Asare II, Presiding Member of the assembly, acknowledged the contributions of Mr Asamoah during his tenure of office and wished him well in his retirement from the Civil Service. Mr Asamoah, a teacher who joined the assembly in 2001 from Ejura expressed his appreciation and thanks to God for leaving the Civil Service without any blemish.

He called on Public and Civil Servants to be respectful in the discharge of their duties.
