Dormaa Traditional Council to release land

Dormaa-Ahenkro, Sept 25, GNA – The Dormaa Traditional Council has expressed its readiness to release land for development projects. In furtherance of this the Dormaahene and President of the Dormaa Traditional Council Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang-Badu II has granted unfettered freedom to Dormaa District Chief Executive (DCE), Squadron-Leader Benjamin Anane Asamoah, to explore and locate land that would be ideal for development projects for the council’s immediate approval.

The Council’s decision followed the DCE’s appeal for the release of 200 acres of land for estate development to ease the accommodation problem that face workers in the district.

The DCE made the appeal when he and the two Members of Parliament (MPs) in the district, Mr Yaw Ntow Ababio and Mr Yaw Asiedu Mensah for Dormaa East and West respectively paid a courtesy call on the chief. Osagyefo Agyemang-Badu told the political hierarchy in the district to co-operate with the traditional authority to ensure that political programmes did not marginalize the people’s culture. The Traditional Council called for a split of the district into two and pledged its support in the processes and programmes towards the creation of a new district.

The DCE and the two MPs expressed gratitude to the chief for his concern and assured him that they would live above reproach and give premium to the district’s development.

The DCE presented yams, drinks and a ram to the Council towards the celebration of the Adaekese festival.
