Offinso (Ash), Sept 20, GNA – Frustrated parents of junior secondary school candidates who were wrongly placed in the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) have expressed concern about their fate.
Mr Emmanuel Ofosuhene and Madam Agnes Donkor, both parents who briefed newsmen at Offinso on Monday, said they were desperate because most of the senior secondary schools have re-opened but they are yet to know their children’s fate.
Mr Ofosuhene said his son was placed in a girls’ school and his daughter in a boys’ school and efforts to convince the authorities to swap them have failed.
Mr Ofosuhene said parents were eager to know the fate of their children so that they could make the necessary financial and material preparations.
Madam Donkor said her daughter, who obtained aggregate 10, was placed in a private school far away from the Offinso District. ”Apart from the inadequate infrastructure and other facilities that exist in the school, it will be impossible for her to meet the exorbitant fees usually charged by private schools.” Madam Donkor appealed to the Ghana Education Service to expedite action to streamline the mistakes.
