Kufuor Administration – Most corrupt

In spite of the creeping acrimonious internal squabbles among big shots in the National Democratic Congress, the National Youth Organiser of the party, Hon Haruna Iddrisu has found time to launch a blistering attack on the ruling party led by President Kufuor.

Mr Haruna Iddrisu, the Member of Parliament for Tamale South, has accused President Kufuor of presiding over the most corrupt government in Ghanaian history.

?The President knows he is president over the most stinking administration in this country as far as corruption is concerned?, he charged.

Citing cases to buttress his claim, Haruna, a former NUGS President, said that the NPP government told the whole country that, ?they would forward the docket on Alhaji Bamba to the Attorney General?s Office, but that has not been done.?

According to him, when the President was in opposition, he chastised the NDC government with corruption allegations, using newspaper publications without any evidence but ?today he says he would not rely on newspaper reports.?

?Is it not the same newspaper report that was used in dealing with Mallam Issah and Kofi Asante,? he asked. He challenged the NPP government to conduct a forensic audit into the disbursement of HIPC funds used for development projects across the country.

Haruna Iddrisu was speaking at a forum organized by the University of Ghana branch of the Tertiary Education Institutional Network of the National Democratic Congress. It was held at the University of Ghana, Legon on a theme ?The Philosophy of the National Democratic Congress.?

On the amendment of the People?s Representation Bill, the young lawyer claimed that ?it has a huge potential of throwing this country into chaos.? He argued that the country does not have any determinable statistics to ascertain the number of Ghanaians living in abroad.
