Committee to supervise twin-city programme inaugurated

Saltpond, Sept. 19, GNA – A 19-member committee to supervise a twin-city programme between Mankessim in the Mfantseman District and Inglewood, California in the USA has been inaugurated at Saltpond. Mr Robert Quainoo-Arthur, Mfansteman District Chief Executive inaugurating the Committee said the programme was a mutual relationship that should be beneficial to both parties therefore, it should not be involved in chieftaincy disputes that would affect development of the area.

He stressed the need for the Committee to establish a two-way communication channel between the two districts. Nana Araba Otua II Queenmother of Mankessim last year, initiated the twin-city programme.

The first agreement was signed in Inglewood in February this year and second would be signed at Mankessim in January next year.
