Refrain from chieftaincy disputes – Youth urged

Yefri (B/A) Sept.16, GNA – Mr. James Kwabena Appiah-Awuah, Nkoranza District Chief Executive, has appealed to the youth to refrain from indulging in chieftaincy and land disputes that affect development. He asked the people to bury their political differences and forge ahead in unity to initiate development programmes that would enable them to improve their living standards. Mr. Appiah-Awuah made the appeal when addressing the chiefs and people of Yefri, Bodom, Tankor, Pinihene and Boana on a familiarisation tour of the district.

He asked the people to honour their tax obligations to generate more revenue for the Assembly in its efforts to develop the area. At Yefri, Mr. Augustine Asumah, the Assemblyman appealed to the Assembly to provide borehole and a place of convenience for the Community Day Senior Secondary School.

He said Yefri has been selected as a centre for the Basic Education Certificate Exammination (BECE) and therefore, appealed to Mr. Kwabena Agyemang-Badu the District Director of Education to provide furniture for the centre.

Mr. Charles Baafour-Amisare, Assemblyman for Tankor appealed to the District Directorate of Education for assistance to rehabilitate the Methodist Primary School.

He called for the extension of electricity to the community. Mr. A. C. Addae, Secretary of Yefri Area Council expressed concern about the deplorable roads in the area, the Yefri-Boana, Kranka-Baafi-Tanoboase roads and appealed to the Assembly to rehabilitate them.

Mr. Addae appealed to the Assembly to provide the community with two places of convenience to ensure good sanitation in the area.
