Assemblyman commends MP for provision of streetlight materials

Winneba (C/R), Sept. 10, GNA-The MP for Effutu and Deputy Minister of Health, Mr Samuel K.Owusu-Agyei, has been commended for providing street lighting materials worth six million cedis to improve the street lighting system in parts of Winneba Town.

Mr Kofi Taylor, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Treasurer and Assemblyman for Winneba Abasraba/Zongo Electoral Area made the commendation at a meeting with Unit Committee Members at Winneba on Thursday.

The materials, included boxes of 400 kilowatts electric bulbs and other electrical fittings, were purchased with part of Mr Owusu-Agyi’s share of the common fund.

Mr Taylor said the materials would be used to rehabilitate unserviceable streetlights in parts of Winneba as from September 13. He announced that Mr Owusu-Agyei had already made available to the Winneba Government Hospital, one mortuary machine, one washing machine and a dryer to support the running of the Hospital.

Mr Taylor said the MP has also initiated moves to reconstruct the gutter behind the Winneba Government Hospital Mortuary to improve the drainage system there.

Participants at the meeting also praised the MP for the efforts he was making towards the development of the Effutu Traditional Capital and the Administrative seat of the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District and pledged their uninterrupted support for the good work he was doing in the area. Mr Taylor appealed to Effutu citizens to put their political sentiments behind them and co-operate with the MP to raise the socio- Economic conditions of the people in the Effutu constituency.
