Tema Council of Churches executives take office

Tema, Sept. 05, GNA – An 18-member executive for the Zone Five of the Tema Council of Churches (COC) was inducted into office at an ecumenical service at the Redemption Presbyterian Church in Tema at the weekend. It has Mr Joseph Botwe as Chairman, with Mr Joseph Dzediku as his vice. Mrs Lydia Ladze Asala is Secretary with Mrs Francisca Abba Essien as her Assistant. Other officers are, Mrs Janet Acquah, Treasurer with Pastor Stephen Mensah, organiser.

They have two-year tenure.

Preaching at the service, Reverend Joseph Ocran, immediate past chairman of the Tema Local Council of Churches (TLCC) urged Christians to show reverence to God.

Rev. Ocran charged Christian to always count the cost of their relationship with God.

He reminded the officers that in times of temptations, they needed to be steadfast, instead of giving up.

Right Rev. Michael Kumi, chairman of TLCC, who inducted the executives, reminded them of the herculean task ahead, and charged them to be true instruments of God.

Rev. S. K. Mensah, Pastor in charge of the Redemption Presby Church, assured the officers of the needed cooperation from the congregation, advising them therefore, to go about their duties with dedication, zeal and honesty.
