Awutu-Bawjiase(C/R), Aug. 30, GNA – Members of the Awutu-Bawjiase Tie and Dye Producers Association (ABTDPA), have appealed to the Government to fulfil its promise to provide them with financial support to enable them to commence their business.
Leaders of the Association including, Mr Alfred Amoah, Chairman, Vice Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Asomaning, Mr Joseph Appiah, Secretary and Madam Elizabeth Manu, Treasurer, made the call at an emergency meeting at Bawjiase on Monday.
According to the leaders, the group with a total membership of 31, including two physically challenged women, were trained by the Government 18 months ago.
They maintained that shortly after their graduation government promised to offer them adequate financial assistance to start their own businesses to make them economically self-reliant.
To facilitate the implementation of the Government’s decision, they were made to open bank accounts into which the money would be paid but surprisingly, as of now, they had not received any assistance.
“We shall be grateful therefore, if government would expedite action on plans to provide members of the association with the said loans to ensure early commencement of individual businesses to enable us earn a decent living”, the Chairman said.
The association would require about 100 million cedis to start work, he added.
