Ahafo-Ano South assembly sponsors 200 teachers

Mankranso (Ash), Aug. 25, GNA – The Ahafo-Ano South District Assembly is spending over 60 million cedis this year to sponsor 200 teacher trainees in various teacher training colleges throughout the country.

The sponsorship package was aimed at producing enough qualified teachers to fill the numerous vacancies existing in some schools, especially in the most deprived rural school communities. Mr J. Amoako-Nimfuor, an Assistant Director of Education in-charge of Human Resource Management and Development at the district education directorate, announced this when he briefed Mr Eddy Obeng-Darko, the Atwima-Nwabiagya District Director of Education at Mankranso on Wednesday.

He said more than 100 teaching vacancies existed in various basic schools in the district.

Mr Amoako-Nimfuor said 60 untrained teachers had been recruited by the district assembly to fill some of the vacancies. 25 Aug. 05
